Recycle with Beck – Temporary Protection Recycling Scheme

Protect Your Site and the Environment

At Beck, we take sustainability seriously and believe it is essential to help protect the environment for future generations. Throughout our history, we have sought to ensure that our products are manufactured from recycled materials and are 100% recyclable. This is where the Beck recycling scheme comes in.

This important scheme allows for the responsible disposal of PROGUARD® CORREX® plastic sheeting and Bufferboard® products. Returned waste is sorted, washed and re-granulated. It is then fully recycled and reused in the production of new plastic products, including PROGUARD® CORREX® sheeting. The result is a more sustainable supply chain that can make a difference.

Reduce construction waste. Promote sustainability. Choose Beck.

Temporary protection recycling has never been easier. If you want to do your part for the environment, recycle your temporary protection sheets with Beck.

How Beck’s recycling scheme works

1. Protect

Place your order for temporary protection products online or directly with one of our sales team members. We will dispatch your order for next-day delivery nationwide. At the same time, order your CORREX® Collect Back Bag. This will arrive flat-packed.

2. Consolidate

At the end of the project, consolidate all PROGUARD® CORREX® sheeting waste and stack it into your Collect Back Bag, with the pallet at the base of the bag. The bag needs to be opened and the pallet fitted inside for CORREX® to be stacked on.

3. Collect

Once the bag is full, use the straps across the top to secure the CORREX®. Please call us on 01432 263598 to arrange for the collection of the waste material.

4. Recycle

Returned waste is sorted, washed, and reprocessed into granules. It is then fully recycled and reused in the production of new plastic products, including PROGUARD® CORREX® sheeting.

FAQs about recycling with Beck

What does CORREX® and Bufferboard® get recycled into? ▼

The used protection products are collected from the site and sent to our recycling facility, where they are shredded, washed, and regranulated. The final products will be suitable for use in plastic manufacturing, thereby contributing to the circular economy. This includes products such as PROGUARD® CORREX®, plastic bowls, plastic car bumpers, and more.

Can you prove that the collected material has been recycled? ▼

Yes, we provide full transparency for your peace of mind. Once the material has been returned to our recycling plant, you will receive a waste recycling certificate that provides a summary of the weight collected, the carbon savings achieved, and the volume diverted from landfill.

Is it cheaper to recycle temporary protection than to use a skip? ▼

Yes! On average, it costs £253 to dispose of 1,000 sheets of CORREX® in an 8-yard (25p per sheet). Our collection costs average only 20p per sheet, saving you 20% in costs!

How long does it take to arrange the collection of the waste? ▼

Recycling PROGUARD® products with Beck is quick and efficient. We require just 48 working hours’ notice for collection.

What other requirements should we meet? ▼

  • Waste sheets must be in the collection bag
  • Minimum collection of 1 bag
  • Waste must be strapped/wrapped securely
  • Bag must only contain sheets supplied by Beck.
